Hi i had bought a monitor p2314h that support displayport.
Displayport to hdmi cable not working.
Most displayport cables do not have this pin or it is not connected inside the cable because it will cause a short circuit when connecting source to sink.
Is the connection like th.
It seemed to work only sporadically.
I had try to connect from monitor dp port dp to hdmi convertor hdmi cable my pc hdmi port.
On my newly purchased dell s2417dg the display port does not work.
Computer is a dell precision 5510.
No signal is detected on the tv.
Not really what you want in an adapter as the picture disappears once you stop applying pressure.
I was able to replicate this problem with several hdmi cables.
I had also purchase d displayport to hdmi adaptor but when i try to connect it to my pc and the monitor show nothing.
When i switch to it the monitor says no signal and then goes into sleep mode.
I just installed my gtx 970 card a week ago and i had plenty of hdmi cables so that is why i went with the adapter instead of buying a new display port to hdmi cable.
In the future microsoft could start supporting these types of cables or it will just start working.
The monitor works when connected via hdmi but it is a high hz gsync monitor and both features are only available when connected via displayport so running it via hdmi is completely pointless.
I have been able to get certain hardware to work with windows 10 operating system even though this hardware was older or that it was not officially.
Hello i am currently using the plugable usb c docking station and having issues with my dell p2213 detecting its connection to the docking station through a comprehensive displayport to hdmi cable.
Displayport to hdmi adapter does not work jump to solution the cable i bought is a black standard displayport dp to hdmi 1 4 adapter with audio support 3d for ati my monitor is a dell p2210 my idea was to connect my playstation 4 slim pro to the monitor.
Link for the cable being used pasted below.
The displayport provides 3 3v dc power on pin 20.
If your cable is bad or you just need an adapter because for some reason a straight cable won t work spending 20 on the adapter is a lot cheaper than new graphics card.
I eventually figured out that the connection is successful only if a significant amount of pressure is applied to the hdmi displayport connection.
Not sure where to even start but the connection is not being detected by the computer or the monitor.
You should not use an adapter to convert displayport to hdmi anywhere in the signal chain other than right at the source.
